On 1 January 2024, KERN CHERKEH Rechtsanwälte PartmbB took over the function of the legal ombudsperson at Fortuna Düsseldorf. We are delighted about this further and important task in the context of compliance and protection of whistleblowers in professional sports:
"The whistleblower system at Fortuna Düsseldorf
Integrity should take centre stage at Fortuna Düsseldorf. For us, integrity means that our own thoughts and actions are in line with the values of Fortuna. But integrity also means having the courage to make decisions and accept the consequences. We assume that everyone wants to behave correctly. It is therefore primarily about being able to recognise right and wrong in every situation in order to then do the right thing.
Vorfälle und Hinweise melden
Wir treten jeder Form von Korruption, Betrug und sonstigen Gesetzesverstößen entschieden entgegen. Als Bestandteil unseres Compliance Management Systems haben wir eine externe und unabhängige anwaltliche Ombudsperson zur Entgegenahme und Bearbeitung von Hinweisen bestellt. Die Ombudsperson der Fortuna, Rechtsanwalt u. Fachanwalt für Sportrecht Prof. Dr. Cherkeh, steht den Beschäftigten, Ehrenamtlichen, Mitgliedern, Kooperations- und Geschäftspartnern der Fortuna sowie sonstigen Dritten als persönliche Ansprechperson zur Verfügung, um von diesen Informationen und Hinweise zu tatsächlichen oder möglichen Gesetzes- oder Regelverstößen (einschl. z.B. Verstöße gegen Arbeitsschutz- und Datenschutzbestimmungen, Verhaltenskodizes, Mobbing, Rassismus, Diskriminierung, sexualisierte Gewalt), die im Zusammenhang mit den Tätigkeiten und Dienstleistungen der Fortuna stehen, vertraulich entgegenzunehmen. Reporting incidents and tips
We firmly oppose all forms of corruption, fraud and other violations of the law. As part of our compliance management system, we have appointed an external and independent legal ombudsperson to receive and process reports. Fortuna's ombudsperson, lawyer and sports law specialist Prof. Dr. Cherkeh, is available to Fortuna's employees, volunteers, members, cooperation and business partners and other third parties as a personal contact person to receive information and tips on actual or potential violations of laws or regulations (including, for example, violations of occupational health and safety and data protection regulations, codes of conduct, bullying, racism, discrimination, sexualised violence) in connection with Fortuna's activities and services.
