In May 2022, the “Sports Manipulation Reporting Office” was set up on the basis of the Macolin Convention (Council of Europe Convention on Combating the Manipulation of Sports Competitions) signed by the Federal Republic of Germany with the aim of preventing, detecting and punishing such manipulation. In addition to the existing services offered by organized sport, an additional, independent and low-threshold whistleblower system (technical system and reporting office) for criminal offences of sports betting fraud, the manipulation of sports competitions and corresponding sports law regulations has been in place since then.

In an interview with the VDV - Association of Contract Football Players - magazine “WIR PROFIS” (current issue 2/24), we have now, two years after the launch, drawn a thoroughly positive interim conclusion, along with insights into the practice of the Reporting Office for Sports Manipulation.
